Transit-Oriented Development
The City of Louisville Planning Commission has shown some willingness to consider redeveloping the transit site adjacent to U.S. Highway 36 to include affordable housing, but the 2021 Marshall Fire and other obstacles have delayed that project.
Inclusionary Housing Requirements
A section on inclusionary housing was added to the Louisville Municipal Code in June 2021. In August 2022, the Planning Commission approved an amendment to require 30% inclusionary housing when certain conditions apply. Members expressed reservations about the proposed 30% requirement and recommended the City Council consider additional incentives to encourage developers to comply.
