Our Community Cares

At ECHO, our deep-rooted thanks and appreciation go out to the people who believe in us, support our work, and continue to help us with the vision of co-creating a strong, diverse community in Eastern Boulder County where our neighborhoods have access to affordable, quality housing in which to work, study, and play.

It’s thanks to each of you that ECHO can exist as a grassroots nonprofit that amplifies people’s voices to influence the development of equitable, affordable housing in East Boulder County.

Our hats are off to you . . .

  • . . . The 50 residents of East Boulder County who came together on January 2020 for the first organizing meeting of ECHO in support of increasing the availability and accessibility of affordable, attainable housing and of encouraging local decision-makers to listen to the voices of people most affected by the lack of affordable housing.

  • . . . The established or newbie volunteer who gifts us with their time and friendly disposition to share our story and resources at a farmers’ market, leads as a member of our Board, or participates in or promotes our educational and training events.

  • . . . The community members, advocates, and leaders who subscribe to our monthly newsletter, testify at city council, zoning, planning, and development meetings in favor of affordable and attainable housing ordinances so people from diverse income levels can find a decent place to call home (apartments, condos, duplexes, fourplexes, townhomes, single homes), or email letters to the city council or pen letters to the editor.

  • . . . The members of our partner nonprofit organizations, communities of faith, and government entities who collaborate with meeting space and promotion of trainings, getting the word out about affordable housing considerations, engaging in community conversations, teaching us about communicating and messaging that is culturally competent regardless of self-identification intersectionalities, and seeking consultations with us on best practices on affordable housing.

  • . . . The brewpub owner who sponsors an ECHO educational online forum and is committed to participating in affordable housing decision tables so his employees can find an affordable place to live in the same community where they work.

  • . . . The donor whose generous donation helped us bring on board our first BIPOC community engagement staff member to convey we are here as a resource on affordable housing policy and engage in authentic conversations where we actively listen and encourage the economically and socially underrepresented to share their housing stories and needs with policymakers.

It’s because of you that we can effect positive change and increase our community impact by informing, educating, and training East Boulder County folks and decision-makers about affordable housing needs, local projects, and how to be effective local advocates and thoughtful decision-makers.

We at ECHO couldn’t do our work without your committed and ongoing support. We see you and treasure your contributions of kindness, talent, voice, pen, and financial support. Thank you for showing up and helping our organization!

With deep gratitude,

The ECHO Team
